How Flora and Fauna Became Friends
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: WORKSHOP TIME CHANGED TO 13:00 – 14:00
Passenier based compositions on children’s drawings that were made during a workshop at Cultura Nova Festival 2017. It opened with the question: “How did Flora and Fauna become friends?” The music of that day introduced a little flower creature and the faune, and then the kids took over – they drew drawing after drawing, introducing more and more new story lines. Every day Passenier added new music, basing on the drawings of the passed day, and this was how in eight intense but cheerful workshop days, this fantastical story emerged!
Now, the workshop returns!
After that, Passenier wrote yet another entire new project for big band, based on the story of those children’s drawings.
Now, the kids return! They will hear parts of the big band music, and they can draw, paint, or write about it whatever they want! Is Flora really a little flower creature? Who’s Fauna? And who are their friends? Where do they go, what happens to them???
Come and let us know with your art, while we: Reinier Baas, the Codarts Big Band and Jesse Passenier, show you some of our music!!!
