Lit Scenes

Fluid Orchestra ft. Dudok Quartet Amsterdam & VJ Anne Gentenaar

Lit Scenes, composed by Jesse Passenier and performed by his Fluid Orchestra, mixes jazz and classical for an exceptional octet line-up. The young composer, who won the Rogier van Otterloo Award in 2017 and has already written over 70 arrangements for the Metropole Orchestra, was influenced by Bartók, Ligeti and Ravel, as well as jazz legends such as Bob Brookmeyer, Vince Mendoza and the Danish Jens Winther. The renowned Dudok Quartet Amsterdam features as string quartet, alongside pianist Bart Van Caenegem, bassist Matthias Akeo Nowak, flutist Maarten Reumkens and Marc Alberto on EWI and Moog Synth. Part of the programme is a composition for the string quartet alone. The Fluid Orchestra is led by the composer himself, who collaborated with VJ Anne Gentenaar to translate the filmic music to image. The music deals with scenes from nature, that represent deep emotions and experiences. On screen, this ongoing theme is brought to life by Gentenaars live visuals.
